Obituary of Lino Salvador

Salvador, Lino Roberti - Passed away suddenly and peacefully on December 31 at his home in Thorold, Ontario. Beloved spouse of the late Angelina (Mauro). Dear father of Emmelia (Martino Mazza), Antonio, Eliano, Davide (Julie) and Eduardo (Erica). Loving grandfather of Joseph, Elise, Michael, Benjamin, Laura, Tia, Marcus, Talia, Gabriel, and Matthew. Son of the late Antonio and Emma (Roberti) Salvador. Son-in-law of the late Berardo and Antonietta Mauro, brother-in-law of the late Carmine Mauro. Brother of Carlo Salvador and the late Regina, Lidia, Luigi and Pietro Salvador. With courage, Lino left everything he had known in Vittorio Veneto, Italy at the age of 21 to provide a better life for his future family. He met his late wife while living in Peterborough, Ontario. Following their marriage, they began their family of 5 children while spending his career working for General Motors. He personally built his homes with remarkable ingenuity highlighted by his craftmanship of stone masonry. These skills he happily shared with family and friends throughout the years.

He was never one to claim perfection and he was frequently researching new ideas enhancing his knowledge base. His philosophy on life can be summarized by Abraham Lincoln, "I do the very best I know how, the very best I can, and I will keep on doing so until the very end." He will be remembered for his various theories and also for being a man of loyalty. A man of strength. A man of determination. A man with a thirst for knowledge. A man who endured life's obstacles without question. A man of beliefs. A man of acceptance. But most importantly he will be remembered as being a man who possessed an unquestionable love for his family. He will be cherished by the family he adored always. Relatives and friends will be received at BOCCHINFUSO FUNERAL HOME, 2 Regent Street, Thorold on Sunday, January 6, 2019 from 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM. Vigil Prayers will be recited at 4:30 PM.  A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, January 7, 2019 at 1:00 PM at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church 21 Queen Street South, Thorold.  Rite of Committal Lakeview Cemetery.  If desired, memorial donations to the Huntington Society of Canada or the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
