Obituary of Michele D'Addario
D'Addario, Michele "Mike/Big Mike" passed away late in the evening on October 8, 2017 at the age of 84. He is survived by his wife, Josephine, to whom he was married for over 59 years. They had three daughters, Diane Stanclik (Richard) and the late Connie Cybula (Tom and Elaine) and the late baby Sandy (1968). Mike was blessed with nine grandchildren: Christopher (Chrissa), Tara, Steven, Connie, James, and Michelle; and Krysta Cournoyea (Mike), Kevin, and Alexandra. He also had three great-grandsons: Nicholas, Jameson, and Benjamin, and many nieces and nephews. Dear brother to Louisa D'Amico and Vincenza Marrone and brother-in-law to Tony Fioruccci. Predeceased by his parents Giovanni and Concetta D'Addario, brothers-in-law Joe D'Amico and Joe Marrone. Mike had a long, successful career at the Abitibi Paper Mill in Thorold, Ontario where he worked for 40 years. He was known as a friendly face around town, and later in The T. Roy Adams Centre at Linhaven Nursing Home. We are thankful for the care and compassion that he received there from Dr. Rhonda Collins, the nurses, recreation staff, PSWs, and the cleaning staff. Mike was a lively, comedic spirit, hard worker, and loved to sing and dance. He was a member of The Legion of Mary, and devoted several years to the communities of St. Charles School and Monsignor Clancy School where he promoted and taught the students to pray the Most Holy Rosary. He was also devoted to praying weekly with the residents of Cobblestone Gardens in Thorold. Mike's most prized possessions were his wife and family. He was a devoted husband and father and a most proud grandfather. His generosity was endless and his hospitality second to none. Mike had a heart and a smile for everyone he met. Friends will be received at the Bocchinfuso Funeral Home at 2 Regent Street, Thorold on Thursday, October 12, 2017 from 2:00-4:00 p.m. and 7:00-9:00 p.m. Vigil Prayers will be recited at 3:00 p.m. A funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 13, 2017 at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Parish, 21 Queen Street South, Thorold, Ontario. Memorial donations to either Thorold Holy Rosary Building Fund or to the St. Catharines Right to Life Association would be greatly appreciated. A heartfelt farewell from Mike in his own words, which will always remind us of him: 1, 2, 3, Grandpa!! Adios, Amigos!!!
